About Celladon

Celladon is a privately held biotechnology company founded with the goal of becoming the leader in developing molecular therapies for the treatment of heart failure. Our products target the key enzyme deficiency in advanced heart failure, SERCA2a, which regulates calcium cycling and contractility in heart muscle cells. Our initial product candidate, MYDICAR®, delivers the gene for the SERCA2a enzyme and enrollment for the Phase 1 and 2 clinical trial has just been completed and patients are being followed. Top-line results are expected in the first half of 2010.  Celladon also develops small molecule activators of SERCA2a for acute heart failure.

Heart failure is a chronic disease with over 550,000 new cases every year in the U.S. Seventy percent of people with heart failure die of the disease within 10 years, and the five-year survival is less than 50 percent. The economic burden on the healthcare system from heart failure is expected to cost $35 billion in 2008. We believe our products could dramatically lower the cost of caring for these patients, improve prognosis, and importantly, provide a better quality of life during the terminal stages of the disease.

Our management team, board of directors and scientific advisors is comprised of industry recognized professionals who possess broad scientific knowledge in cardiovascular disease and extensive experience building biotechnology companies and managing drug development through clinical trials to FDA approval.

Celladon Corporation is based in La Jolla, California. Current investors include Enterprise Partners Venture Capital, Venrock Associates, and Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation.
